Thomas Moore is a pioneer in the art of soulful living. Since publishing his classic Care of the Soul, he has explored the soul of relationships, everyday life, sex, religion, ordeals, work, and medicine. Now in this new e-course, he turns his attention to how we can age with soul.

As everyone knows, we are growing older all the time. But growing older is not the same as aging. Many people seem to grow older without going through the challenging life processes that make you a real person of substance and character. That kind of aging requires saying yes to the opportunities and difficult issues that life presents.

This e-course focuses not on the externals of aging — finances, physical health practices, and retirement arrangements — but on the inner ones — spirituality, eroticism, meaningful work and retirement, and especially the emotional and character developments that make you a real individual.

Along the way, we consider loneliness, legacy, youthfulness, anger, melancholy, being an elder, and a meaningful ending of life. One point strongly made is that we age best by first being straight about the fact of getting older and then, and only then, by trying to be youthful, too.

Thomas Moore is one of S&P's most respected e-course presenters and is featured in our Living Spiritual Teachers Project. His latest book, Ageless Soul, was released in 2017.
