In kabbalistic terminology there are two aspects of mind. There is mokhin d'katnut, literally "smallness of mind," small mind, and mokhin d'gadlut, "greatness of mind," Great Mind. Small mind is limited to the local individual experience without tapping into the greater source of consciousness. Small mind fades, wanders, and waves. The Great Mind, mokhin d'gadlut, opens to rapture, ecstasy, and creativity. The universal consciousness emanating from Great Mind sends thoughts from on high and seeds them in the Great Mind.
