Karl Rahner (1904-1984) has been called the most influential Catholic theologian of the twentieth century. Harvey D. Egan, a former student of his and a fellow Jesuit, is professor of Systematic and Mystical Theology at Boston College. This excellent paperback surveys Rahner's 4,000 written works, quoting them extensively in an attempt to catch the many-splendored dimensions of his theological and pastoral perspectives.

One of the hallmarks of Rahner's Christian faith was his belief that "a person can experience God's very own self." He identified closely with the Ignatian project of "finding God in all things." Egan affirms Rahner's delight in grace and joy as evidence of God's presence in day-to-day existence, as well as his conviction that love of neighbor is love of God.

Egan covers other facets of Rahner's legacy as well, including his work as a teacher of prayer, a preacher of the good news, a lover of Jesus Christ, and a teacher of church and sacraments. This paperback is part of the "Crossroad Spiritual Legacy Series."
