This is the fourth volume in the Jewish Choices, Jewish Voices series edited by Elliot N. Dorff and Danya Ruttenberg. Four hypothetical case studies revolving around sex and intimacy are presented along with ancient and modern Jewish source texts. These are then assessed by a variety of writers from very different backgrounds and perspectives.

The case studies open up decisions which must be made by a couple who are dating, a man and woman who are sexually involved with each other, a woman considering the sex trade, and a married couple challenged with different needs for sexual arousal. These hypothetical cases, source materials, and essays open up discussions of monogamy, honesty, real communication, testing for and disclosure of STDs, abortion, sex education, pornography, and marital obligations in the bedroom. It is refreshing to see sex and intimacy presented and written about with such candor, sensitivity, and pluck!
