One of the many delights of the spiritual life is helping someone else to savor joy. To rejoice with those who feel happy is a gift to be remembered and cherished for a long time. In this children's picture book, author Ellie Gellman and illustrator Maria Mola have fashioned a touching tale about the inner rewards that come from kindness.

Jeremy signs up for a workshop at the Jewish Community Center on making dreidels (tops for a game played during Hanukkah). The participants have many ideas for their dreidels. Abby is making hers from recycled materials, Jacob is using parts from a music box to make a singing dreidel, and Matthew is using a rubber ball for a bouncing dreidel. Jeremy has a much more serious intention: he is making a clay Braille dreidel for his blind father. When he wins recognition for his creative work, this generous boy faces a new obstacle to bringing joy to his dad. But members of the workshop come up a surprise for him that brings happiness to everyone.

At the back of this book, children will find instructions for making dreidels and for playing the dreidel game. There is also a chart of the English braille alphabet and four Hebrew letters in braille.
