Dodo is an odd little bird. He moves slowly and whatever he does, he does awkwardly. His mother has learned to be very patient with him and to let him know that she will always love and look after him. She decides to take him on a walk that ends with a beautiful view. On the way, his singing disturbs some other birds, and he mistakes a turtle for some rocks. There are other blunders, but through it all his mother repairs the damage and they move on to the beautiful view of a valley and the ocean.

Jennifer Sattler loves to tell stories about quirky characters, and that is a good thing to do for children. Some of the things in Uh-Oh, Dodo! are silly and others will help kids to understand and even appreciate oddballs. This funny children's picture book is best suited for kids ages 2 through 5.
