The sun is going down and everyone is sleepy — the mice, the hares, the deer, the big bear. Only problem is, little bear is not sleepy. He tries to get the others to play with him, but they are soon asleep. Finally, he stretches and yawns and is ready for bed.

This is one of those simple books that can be read over and over again. The language is rhythmic and the pictures — oranges and reds giving way to blues and purples — are soothing.
