Leah Pearlman is the creator and founder of Dharma Comics, a popular web comic series with an audience of more than 50,000 followers.

Previously, she worked as a technologist for Microsoft and Facebook.

Pearlman has collected the favorite comic strips from fans along with new illustrations that reveal various aspects of the spiritual journey. This funny, clever, and wise collection of Buddhist humor is divided into sections on:

  • Loving me
  • Loving You
  • When Life Gets Hard
  • Choose Your Own Adventure
  • Finding the Missing Peace

We especially liked these wise observations, cleverly illustrated with simple stick drawings:

  • "I never stop surprising myself."
  • "Sleep is not to be underestimated."
  • "I'm not saying 'no.' I'm saying 'yes' to something else."
  • "Sometimes when I feel worthless, you make me feel priceless."
  • "When inspiration strikes, strike back!"
  • "It takes a whole lot of silence to drown out this noise."
  • "Welcome to the present. Please come back as often as you like."

Finally, here's a little poem on being positive:

Tiny Little Yes

"There's a tiny little YES inside
Hiding where the YESes hide.
You'll find it squeezed in right beside
A MAYBE and a CAN'T-DECIDE.

"It's buried down beneath the WOEs
Somewhere between the NAYs and NOs
You'll have to look past rows and rows
of SORT OFs, NOT QUITEs and SO-SOs.

"Once your YES is in your grasp
Prepare to wonder, gape and gasp.
You may suspect, 'This can't be right!' But trust your gut and hold on tight."
