Natalie is a big sister to Alphonse. At first, they get along fine. They both like naming pigeons, bouncing things off their bunk beds, listening to stories, and making things. But trouble starts when Alphonse draws on Natalie's things and eats her favorite book. She tells him that is "not ok to do!" When he tries to make amends, he makes an even bigger mess. Still, Natalie can't stay mad for long and soon they are drawing together again.

Daisy Hirst's clever text and delightful illustrations (she admits that "I've been doodling monsters all over everything for years") provide ample evidence that children can and do express their feelings through art. Designed for children from preschool to kindergarten, it acknowledges the challenges of siblinghood while showing how to make the best of it.
