Language can be a lot of fun, especially tongue twisters. This cute book, written by Emily Jenkins and illustrated by Chris Appelhans, starts off with simple enough words: "A hound. A round hound. A greyhound. A hog. A round hog. A groundhog." And then the phrases get more complicated as we see a friendship develop between a greyhound and a groundhog. New words are introduced, including our favorite: "astound."

It is truly astounding to see what can be communicated with words. This is a great book for reading aloud with children aged 3 – 7. We enjoyed experimenting with emphasizing different words and even trying out a few accents.
