Mirabai Starr has taught philosophy and world religions at the University of New Mexico, and is the author of acclaimed translations of the Spanish mystics. She is an interspiritual teacher and practitioner.

In Saint Michael The Archangel, Starr looks at this "spiritual warrior" who shows up in spiritual traditions including Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. His other roles are the guardian of children and the transporter of souls. This book is part of Sounds True's "Devotions, Prayers & Living Wisdom" series which aims to "offer you insight, renewal, and companionship on the spiritual path."

There are chapters on the power of strength and protection in times of danger, the divine assistance that comes when we are called upon to do acts of great service in the world, the shepherding of souls through death to the afterlife, and the quality of mercy ad compassion in Michael's defense of the innocent.
