Lily Dulan is a marriage and family therapist, a therapist and certified yoga teacher, who studied Spiritual Coursework at Agape International Spiritual Center with Rev. Michael Bernard Beckwith. She has tapped into her Eastern and Western disciplines to create a heart-centered system of healing she calls The Name Work.

Since her teaching and spiritual practice have grown out of the sudden and catastrophic death of her infant daughter Kara, she begins with her experience of suffering through this loss and the re-direction of her own life. Feeling the need for a moral inventory, Dulan decided to explore a group of qualities from Kara's Name. Here is what she came up with:

  • "K is for Kindness: Let's be kind to ourselves, to others, and to the environment.
  • "A is for Alignment: We focus our attention on what is good and right in the world, no matter how dark things may seem.
  • "R is for Regeneration: We commit to a practice that allows us to feel more spacious and puts us in touch with what we truly need.
  • "A is for Action: We do things that will help others along the way. That includes knowing when to be more engaged, when to slow down, and most importantly, to move toward Tikkun Olam, the healing of the world."

The simple practice gives all those on the spiritual path a chance to deepen and enrich their inner work with affirmations, positivity, movement, and meditation. A special bonus at the end of the book are sample affirmations arranged alphabetically.
