Kenya has been given a school assignment to choose her favorite song and tell her class about it. She feels overwhelmed by the gigantic number of possible choices. Her mom and sister sing a few they love, and her father, a jazz musician, invites her to a rehearsal. At the Caribbean Cultural Club, Kenya hears a rich stew of sounds from Cuba, Haiti, Trinidad, and Puerto Rico. On the walk home with her father, they improvise a song and dance number which makes them both laugh.

Linda Trice has written an enchanting children's book for kids 4 to 7 years of age. The watercolor illustrations are by Pamela Johnson. Anyone who loves the variety of music available to everyone will appreciate the choice of Kenya's favorite song.
