This is the fifth book in a series by Suzanne Bloom (A Splendid Friend, Indeed; What About Bear?; and Oh! What a Surprise!). These spunky and light-hearted tales center around the friendship between Goose, Bear, and Fox.

In this one, aimed at children from ages 3 through 6 years, the message is that forgetting things can spell trouble among friends. Goose is stepping out and as a kindness to his friend Bear wants Fox to let him know that he's gone. But Fox is so caught up in his desire to play with Bear that everything else has little meaning for him. Then it finally dawns on him that he was supposed to give Goose's message to Bear.

Fox Forgets by Suzanne Bloom makes it clear that putting others ahead of ourselves is essential in all relationships. This is an especially relevant children's picture book for grandparents to read to their grandchildren given their experiences of forgetting. They could use this story as a chance to tell their own experiences with memory.
