"When one is a stranger to oneself then one is estranged from others too. If one is out of touch with oneself, then one cannot touch others."
— Ann Morrow Lindbergh

Every once in a while, a children's picture book comes along that stands out from the rest due to its parabolic prowess and philosophical riches. Sometimes the story is simple but the questions that it poses are universal and evergreen. Hats off to writer Veronica Salinas and creative illustrator Camilla Engman for their collaborative effort in this story about an adorable little duck who is blown away from his home and plopped down in an unfamiliar world.

Armed with the question: "Do you know who I am?" the little one has no success in communicating with a fly, a fish, or a mouse. Another duck comes along and gives our lost duck some perspective on what is going on. With this key to self-understanding, the outsider is able to reach out to the others with an open heart and a respect for diversity. Those who were separate are now all one. Once you know who you are and embrace who others are, you will not be blown away by anything that comes your way.
