Nancy is an elephant who has forgotten something important but cannot dredge it up from her memory bank. When she tries to remember, other thoughts (things with wheels, clothes, places to relax, places to go, things the same color or the same shape) take center stage. She can remember things from long ago or from two days ago. She remembers with her ears, her stomach, her nose, and her heart.

Finally, she quits trying so hard and relaxes, presto! — what she has forgotten comes back to her clear as a bell.

Cybele Young, a Canadian writer, is a creative illustrator and a superb writer who has taken a difficult subject and dealt with it imaginatively.
