Paramahansa Jagadish was trained in Transpersonal Psychology at Sonoma State University and completed graduate work at The Transpersonal Center of Holistic Integration in California. In response to the suffering, pain, wars, rampant violence, and ecological devastation in today's world, he has come up with a prayer project taking three minutes during three different periods of the day. He recognizes all the world's religions and spiritual traditions are treasure-troves of devotional resources.

Paramahansa Jagadish suggests we begin by taking a Prayer Project Pledge: "As a Prayer Pledge signee, I commit to engaging in prayer for three minutes three times a day — morning, midday, and evening — to support healthy environmental renewal, great happiness, respect and peaceful collaboration amongst all people on the planet."

Here are a few prayers from the book:

"Creator, open our hearts to peace and healing between all people.
Creator, open our hearts to provide and protect for all children of the earth.
Creator, open our hearts to respect for the earth, and all the gifts of the earth.
Creator, open our hearts to end exclusion, violence, and fear among all.
Thank you for the gifts of this day and every day."
— Native American Micmac Prayer — Alycia Longriver

"Beloved Lord, Almighty God!
Through the rays of the sun,
Through the waves of the air,
Through the all-pervading life in space,
Purify and revivify me, and I pray,
Heal my body, heart, and soul.
Amen."
— Muslim, Nayaz Prayer

"Early in the morning,
Even before the sun was shining,
I got up to say
My morning prayers.
Saying it made me happy
Oh yes, I was joyful all day,
I love getting up to sing my prayers."
— Children's Prayer, Janist Song Prayer
