This book includes presentations from a 1990 conference in Seattle sponsored by the Chinook Learning Center. The participants agree with theologian Thomas Berry's view that "the human community and the natural world will go into the future as a single sacred community or we will both perish in the desert." Essayists such as cathedral dean James Parks Morton, poet David Whyte, and educator David Spangler show how an enlargement of soul, a re-imagining of the world, and a link between ecology and justice are at the heart of renewing our relationship with the Earth Community.
