Thus says the Lord:
"Stand beside the earliest roads,
ask the pathways of old
which is the way to good,
and walk it;
thus you will find rest for souls."
-- Jerimiah 6:16

You will show me the path of life,
the fullness of joy in your presence,
at your right hand happiness forever.
-- Psalm 16:11

"...[T]he real meaning of our life is to develop people who really love God and who radiate love, not in a sense that they feel a great deal of love, but that they simply are people full of love who keep the fires of love burning in the world. For that they have to be ... fully themselves -- real people."
-- Thomas Merton in Thomas Merton in Alaska

In a homily given November 19, 2015, Pope Francis noted, "We have preferred the path of war, the path of hatred, the path of enmity. ... It would do us good to ask for the gift of tears for this world that does not recognize the path of peace. Let us ask for conversion of hearts."

To foster this conversion of hearts, Contemplative Outreach is again partnering with our long-term friends at Spirituality & Practice to offer a year-long program to celebrate "The Path of Life," life as an ongoing practice in the evolution and unification of our hearts, minds and bodies -- a contemplative life lived in and through Christ, as Christ, dedicated to loving God and radiating that love to others. This is an embodied life rooted in silence, deep listening, and daily practice, while all the while attending to the daily round of responsibilities and relationships.

"The one who sees amidst the chaos,
the conflicts, the violence an all-pervasive current
of goodness, ordering all things, advancing all things,
from which all will arise and all will return.
To know this is to bear all the world’s ills
with suffering, yes, but suffering in the Light:
the Light that is to come, and yet,
most mysteriously, is already here."
