E-CoursesPracticing Spirituality with Joyce Rupp
Led by Frederic and Mary Ann Brussat Joyce Rupp describes herself as a spiritual "midwife," a title that perfectly conveys the nurturing she does in her writing and teaching. She encourages us to bring our spirituality into the light of our everyday lives. Her books, workshops, and presentations always contain concrete spiritual practices, lively anecdotes, inspiring poetry, thoughtful journal exercises, guided meditations, and unique prayers. She has a gift for reading her own experiences and finding hints of God's presence in her daily activities. Rupp is a member of the Servite (Servants of Mary) community. She is co-director of the Institute of Compassionate Presence. The author of 20 books (and counting), she has led gatherings throughout North America, Europe, Asia, Africa, and Australia. Rupp was born on a farm and has a B.A. in English, a M.R. E. in Religious education, and a M.A. in Transpersonal Psychology. She lives in Des Moines, Iowa, and is a hospice volunteer. Because Rupp's work is so much about both spirituality and practice, we are pleased to offer a new 40-part e-course based upon her writings. Subscribers receive an early morning email containing a short passage from one of Joyce Rupp's books and a simple suggested practice to do during the day to bring its wisdom into your life. We also work with some of her rituals and poetry every week. This e-course will be as diverse and eclectic as Joyce Rupp's writings. Themes will include pulling through life's losses and sorrows, letting go, using ordinary objects as spiritual catalysts, ways to soften our hearts, sharing God's promises, signs of hope, methods of praying, pilgrimage, the meanings of the four seasons, mystical connections, the ties that bind us to earth and the cosmos, sacred teachings about Sophia, paths to spiritual growth, and much more. One of Joyce Rupp's favorite metaphors for the spiritual journey is the dance. Come join the dance with the Divine as we play, pray, imagine, and delight in the beauty and the bounties of everyday life. 6 CEHs for Chaplains available. This e-course is available on-demand. Once you click on the "subscribe" button, you will be taken through a sign-up process during which you can choose to pay the $19.95 fee by credit card or check. You'll be emailed a receipt with a link to your "account page" where you can choose when you'd like the e-course to begin and how frequently (daily, three times a week, twice a week, or weekly) you would like to receive it. |
