The Civil Conversations Project

The Civil Conversations Project of On Being, founded and directed by Krista Tippett, seeks to renew common life in a fractured and tender world. Two of their program plans help you engage in meaningful conversations and can be adapted for your own focus and intentions.

  • Better Conversations: A Starter Guide
This seven-page resource opens with an invitational letter from Krista Tippett and provides a flexible roadmap for speaking together differently in a way that allows people to live together differently. The guide is intended to help ground and animate a gathering of friends or strangers in a conversation that might take place over weeks or months.
  • Ask Three Questions
This is an instant, easy resource to help you host an intentional conversation with friends, coworkers, or family members. It was created in the wake of a difficult election, but is relevant to any public event or moment that is unsettling for different people in different ways. It is ideal for groups who already know one another and want to go deeper together.
