Anger: These spiritual practices, articles, films, books, prayers, quotes, and more help us build essential skills that carry over into relationships with our enemies. Our worst enemies are often within us, and anger is one form that they take. Knowing how to tame and transform anger can be of inestimable value for our peace of mind. When we come up against external enemies, using anger to break down barriers rather than reinforce them becomes critically important.

Anniversary of 9/11: On the 10th anniversary of 9/11, we asked our wise and articulate Living Spiritual Teachers to contribute practices, meditations, and reflections, and many of them graciously responded. These teachers encourage us to work with primal emotions that surface in the present precarious global situation — fear, anger, thoughts about revenge, worry about security — and to develop the spiritual impulses of compassion, forgiveness, gratitude, hospitality, hope, peace, and unity. We are grateful to them for helping us not only make the annual anniversary of 9/11 into a time of spiritual practice and reflection but also for paving the way to a different relationship with perceived enemies.
