Film ReviewBy Frederic and Mary Ann BrussatCaro Diario Directed by Nanni Moretti New Line Home Video 09/94 DVD/VHS Feature Film Not Rated Caro Diario is a creative, comic, and intellectually stimulating Italian film written, directed, and starring Nanni Moretti. The first of his eight movies to be released commercially in the U.S. spins out three segments of his diary. The first features Moretti riding his motorcycle through the streets of Rome and reflecting upon the dire straits of modern cinema. In the second, he travels to the Lapari Islands off Sicily with a companion who can't cope any place where there is no television. The third and most serious segment reveals Moretti's frustrations with the ineptitude of the medical establishment in diagnosing and treating his cancer. Caro Diario is diverting entertainment offering fresh food for thought on media, travel, and health. Reviews and database copyright © 1970 – 2012 by Frederic and Mary Ann Brussat |
