Father of the Bride
Directed by Charles Shyer
Buena Vista Home Entertainment 12/91 DVD/VHS Feature Film
PG

Father of the Bride is a comedy starring Steve Martin as an anxious father who is unsettled when his pretty 22-year-old daughter (Kimberly Williams) announces that she is going to marry a young man (George Newbern). His feelings of being displaced come to the fore when his wife (Diane Keaton) hires a wedding consultant (Martin Short) who tallies up a $250-a-head price tag for a backyard reception for 500-plus people. Nancy Meyers and Charles Shyer (Baby Boom) are the creative team behind this remake of the 1950 film starring Spencer Tracy.
