Memoirs of An Invisible Man stars Chevy Chase as a San Francisco stock analyst who becomes invisible when a nuclear fusion experiment goes awry in a building he is visiting. All this happens just when he was about to have a dream date with a lawyer (Daryl Hannah). The isolation of his situation really gets to this man who had previously just glided through life in detachment. Now he's got to evade a zealous government agent (Sam Neill) who wants him to serve his country as a spy. Director John Carpenter mines the metaphysical meanings in this comedy which offer snapshots of contemporary attitudes about friendship, love, bureaucracy, and body language.
