Madame Rosa recently won an Academy Award for the Best Foreign Film of 1977. It was written and directed by Moshi Mizrahi. Simone Signoret stars as an ex-prostitute who now lives in a Parisian flat. Over the years, she has taken care of prostitutes' children. Now all of them are gone except Momo (Samy Ben Youb), a young Arab boy. Can she steer him away from a life of crime? Although age and infirmities have worn down Madame Rosa's flesh, her spirit is strong. By bequeathing her love to the boy, she makes her witness to the beauty of the human spirit.
A fine film celebrating the beauty of the human spirit.
