E-mails are written at speed. And they are often read at even greater speed. Between your intention, and what the person reads and comprehends, there is often yet another painful kind of gap. What is in your mind is frequently far from what appears on someone else's screen. I know this, to my sorrow.

As speedy as your e-mail communications need to be, pause to ask yourself: "How will this be read?"
