Find some small object or tool that can serve as a symbol of what you do for a living — for example, a pencil, hammer, broom, screwdriver, book, needle, soap, plastic glove. Choose some time to dedicate and bless this symbol in a private but formal manner. For example, bless it with water or incense, put it on an altar for three days, burn a candle beside it. Write a short prayer or poem honoring the object or tool. As you go about your daily work, recall this ritual and be mindful of how the work you do is pleasing to God and a service to others.
