When you find yourself getting anxious, worried, or lost in your thoughts, gently return to the body by pressing your palms together softly. As you do this, notice how far up your arm the tension goes (to your wrists, elbows, shoulders, etc.). Now press your palms together even harder. Do you feel heat building in your hands? You can also dig your heels into the ground and notice what sensations are present in them. You can also notice the sensations on your fingertips as they type on the keyboard when you are working on the computer. Feel the sensation of warmth or coolness from your mouse. Observe your posture. Practice bringing attention to the body in your other daily circumstances as well. Whenever you lose contact with the body, connect again simply by noticing sensations as they come and go with a sense of neutrality and openness.
