Surround yourself with people who make you laugh. Spend the day devoted to enjoying those who have the ability to poke fun at themselves, who don't take things so seriously, who can see the absurd side of life, the side that keeps reminding you that you're ultimately not in control of everything.

See if you can forget your troubles, aggravations, irritations, frustrations, and disappointments for a day as you get together with people who pledge to do the same. Devote yourself entirely to play and merriment. Go to or rent a movie that is guaranteed to make your stomach ache from laughter. Organize a game with your friends — like charades or Twister — that will fill your day with mirth. If your tastes run to the literary, act out a comedy by Shakespeare, like A Midsummer Night's Dream or A Comedy of Errors. Keep in mind that the point of all this is to laugh.

If you make laughter a priority in you life, you surely increase the chances of laughter finding you. But your environment is important. If you can spend the day with people who know how to have a good time, then your chances of going to bed tonight with a huge smile on your face increase a thousandfold.
