Suppose you are experiencing one of those everyday ordinary annoyances we have all the time. If you think you've never had a problem like that, or haven't ever noticed one, you don't need the practice I'm about to teach you. How nice for you! But in case you're a human being and so do have problems now and then, here's a little something for you.

When you experience problems, putting them in context helps. Are you annoyed by, say mosquito bites? Damn, those things bug me! When you're lying in bed and you can't sleep because of the intolerable itching, here's what the Tibetan teacher Lama Zopa Rinpoche suggests you say: "This problem is like a great pleasure for me. There are much heavier problems to come."
