To engage in the divine exchange, so that you belong to God and God belongs to you, listen deeply to the needs of your soul. Surrender is the lifelong practice of allowing the Divine and not the ego to be the center of reality. Make it a practice in everything you say and do to ask yourself, "Am I coming from a place of divine attributes in me — truth, say, or love, compassion, or beauty — or am I coming from a place of the little self — from fear, pettiness, or jealousy?" Be mindful of the answer and make sincere efforts to act on your soul's needs, no matter how inconvenient or difficult.
