Before retiring at night, I review my day and express gratitude to God for the day's many blessings and opportunities. I also reflect briefly on my shortcomings, especially in my dealings with others. If I have wronged someone I won't meet again, and cannot make amends to him in person, I create a ritual of forgiveness. In my heart I talk silently to the person and ask for his forgiveness. Then I invoke God's mercy and forgive myself.
