The news is such a downer!
Another bomb blast. More killed. The old hot spots are hot again.
Jesus blessed the peacemakers,
but we’ve still got a lot of work to do!
God, how I wish that happy endings came in life like we see them in movies! How I wish the good guys would win!
I admit that all this evil makes me mad. The violence makes me want to strike out, too. I admit it: I’m afraid. The other side is cheating and I’m tempted to cheat, too.
God, bless the peacemakers once again.
Remind us of your goodness.
Remind us of your sacrificial love.
Your way is faithful love, not breaking all the rules and lashing out.
Help me to find my own way back to faithful love.
Help what I say and do today turn the negative tide into a positive surprise.
Inspire me. Inspire all the peacemakers working around me – and bless those so far away that I only glimpse them responding, when that next headline breaks.
