This prayer is intended to be prayed in parts, with one person or group praying the lines in regular type, and other person or group praying the lines in boldface. Those who are praying alone may wish to pray one line silently and the other aloud.

Into your heart, O God, we commend those who live on the edge, whether by choice or through no fault of their own.
Teach us to love, O Lover of life.
Into your rest, O God, we commend those who live in a whirlwind of activity.
Teach us to love, O Lover of life.
Into your presence, O God, we commend those we hurt, whether carelessly, unintentionally, or deliberately.
Teach us to love, O Lover of life.
Into your hands, O God, we commend our loved ones and the strangers in our midst.
Teach us to love, O Lover of life.
Into your depths, O God, we commend our inner lives and our outer journeys.
Teach us to love, O Lover of life.
