Go outside and sit down quietly when you feel dispirited or troubled by some problem in life. Even if there doesn’t seem to be any air stirring, close your eyes, sit still, and become sensitive to the quality of the atmosphere all around your body. Make prayers to the wind to come and heal you. Make your prayer ardent and heartfelt, fully trusting in the spirit of the wind to respond. Repeat your request until you feel a breeze. It might be very subtle, a simple coolness on one side of your body. But something will shift in the air around you. You will feel it. It might even become a dramatic gust that blows strongly for a lengthy period of time.

As the wind blows, be appreciative, express your gratitude for this healing that comes from the invisible realms of the atmosphere to refresh you. Sit in the wind, enjoy it, listen to what it has to tell you. In the wind you can hear the voice of the Earth breathing, telling you pieces of her ancient story so that you can go back into your life, assured that the Earth has a deep and abiding fondness for you.

When the wind dies down, or you feel you have had enough, go back to your tasks, remembering that part of your soul is still being carried by the wind across the sky.
