REFLECTION
Think of a person in your life who is a compassionate person. This might be a relative, friend, or colleague, or a historical biblical, religious, or literary figure. What is it about this person that draws you to think of him or her as a person of compassion?

PRAYER
Attune your heart to someone you know who is hurting. Visualize the tender warmth, deep peace, and healing love of divine compassion moving from head to foot through him or her.

SCRIPTURE TO CARRY IN YOUR HEART TODAY
“Blessed be . . . the God of all consolation, who consoles us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to console those who are in any affliction with the consolation with which we ourselves are consoled by God” (2 Cor 1:3-4).
