Have you ever heard someone use the phrase "a good cry" and wondered what in the world could be good about crying? Don’t we cry when it feels like our hearts are bending and breaking from sadness or disappointment or because we are so mad we could scream? But have you ever noticed that after you cry, you often feel better than you did before? It’s like all the stress or sadness or anger you were holding inside gets flushed out of your body through your tears.

Write "Dear God" at the top of a piece of paper and "Amen" at the bottom of the page. Get a glass of water and sprinkle drops of water on the page; imagine the drops of water are your tears.

Psalm 56:8 (NLT) says, "You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle." The next time you cry, offer your tears as a prayer to the God who sees you. Imagine God collecting each and every one of your tears in a beautiful bottle.
