The heart chakra, located in the center of the chest, is associated with love and compassion. Choosing poses and reciting affirmations and mantras of the heart chakra can guide your [yoga] practice to emphasize your cultivation of compassion. When your heart chakra is balanced, compassion will flow freely. As you move into different poses, recite the following affirmations to yourself, either out loud or internally:

  • I am open to love and kindness.
  • I feel united with all other human beings.
  • I am connected to nature and all living things.
  • I love and accept myself.

Choosing to unconditionally love others is a path to deep joy.
