Use visualization to deal with racing thoughts and worries. As you relax using the diaphragmatic breath, imagine a large container into which you place all your worries, anxieties, and concerns. After you have put all troublesome thoughts in the container, picture yourself closing it and putting a lock on it. Before putting the container away, ask yourself one more time: Is there anything else I need to place in the container? If so, place that additional thought in the container. Now you are ready to move the container to a place far, far away from you. You may want to put it behind a brick wall, at the bottom of the ocean, or on the dark side of the moon. Before locking the container, ask yourself for the final time: Is there anything else I need to place in the container? After placing any last thoughts in the container, lock it shut. You can always get to the container if you have to, but know that for now you have stored away all thoughts and concerns, which can wait for tomorrow.
