Practice intentionality for five minutes at a time in this way: For the next five minutes, set intentions for everything you do. It's easiest to do this in silence and when you will not be interrupted. You can do this with any activity, such as preparing food, eating, driving the car, gardening, or cleaning up the house.

Notice those times when your intention does not originate from the heart or when it is not beneficial for others. Do not blame yourself; instead, allow yourself to begin anew with a genuine effort to open your heart. Keep trying to notice the slivers of craving or desire that creep in, and accept that you are doing the best you can to bring conscious purpose into your daily life. Eventually, you may want to spend up to an entire day practicing mindful intention.
