Rabbi Hersh Weissfish is described as a "happy Jew." It is said that if you saw him approaching on the street, you had to smile. If not, when he reached you, he would say, "Reb Yid, me dear fellow Jew, I can see from your face that you're not so satisfied with the world God has created." Then Rabbi Hersh would enter into a long discussion, sometimes of hours, to prove to the person by many arguments that he should be happy.
