Striving in faith is about the long view. It's about shrinking our fear a little and expanding our lives a lot. Striving is what Paul wrote about in his letter to the Philippians: "Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God which passes all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
The long view is rooted in that peace. Out of that peace, true freedom is born, the freedom not to be afraid.
