The Prophet's activities were not restricted to religious matters. His teachings encompassed all areas of daily life, covering every aspect of human activity from observing the ritual prayer to table manners. He led the community in social and political matters and advised them on their day- to-day dealings. He did not speak from a position of islolation: he lived a full social life, with a family, wives and children, and was an experienced ruler and judge. Moreover, he fought in many wars and underwent painful ordeals....From all this he left an invaluable legacy for his followers, presented in Hadith literature.
