The other day some people invited me to go to visit Lincoln's birthplace. A poster there displays different photographs taken of Lincoln throughout his lifetime. Above the photographs it says, "With malice toward none; with charity for all." To a Buddhist, this is very impressive! It reminds me of the bodhisattva in our own tradition who lives his or her whole life in this same way.
