I think that she is the actual miracle of the story [Mark 5:25]. The miracle is that she can say this sentence to herself: If I can only touch his clothing, then I will become well! Miracles also happen through us when we break the chains of obligations that surround us and hold us captive, when we follow conscience and act for our passions, when we follow out intuitions that have been suppressed in our superficial, rational culture and of which we are barely conscious anymore. "If I can only touch his clothing, then I will become well!" I see it like this: With these words she opens herself for the flow of energy that can come from the one facing her, from this Jesus in whom she has put all her trust. With this trust — opposed to all other human experience — energies flow into her, energies which touch her, touch her body, and which heal her. With this trust, she opens herself to God's power and to God's presence.
