Sometimes I think that more people get hurt by gossip than by guns. The point is that nobody has a fixed character. Everybody has traits, tools of character to be used and misused. If I have a tendency to be accommodating to other people, I can misuse this trait in a self-centered way as a means for personal protection. On the other hand, I can accommodate people in a manner that is clearly beneficial to them. Character transformation is not a matter of changing traits. It is rather taking my innate configurations and making the most and best of them. I vow to understand and encourage the fundamental qualities of my character and of others.
