Practicing and meditating on loving-kindness and compassion fulfills the purpose of your life and that of other sentient beings. Such practice and meditation, which makes your mind familiar with the cultivation of loving-kindness and compassion, is not something that should be limited only to believers. Even for nonbelievers, it is extremely important to develop such habits and positive qualities of the mind.
