Have you caught a glimpse of God in another human face today? Perhaps it was in the eyes of a homeless teenager, or an overworked cashier at a supermarket checkout. Perhaps a baby looked into your eyes and you saw the world anew in her glance. Was God there when an elderly relative looked at you mutely, hoping for five minutes of your attention? Or when your child wanted you to listen to his new CD? Eternity is made up of a million moments of possibility like these. Don't judge yourself when you miss a few, or even most of them. There will be many more tomorrow, and in each human face you look into with love, you will see a reflection of God's love shining back.
