I believe that the central problem was, and continues to be, a lack of understanding of the spiritual meaning of Judaism and the joy of living Jewish. We need to know the why's of being Jewish. If we don't understand what Judaism means, then we can't really love it, and we are not going to live it. It's not enough for rabbis or parents to tell us that we should be Jewish. People don't always know what they should do. But most people do what they love to do. It would be great if we could love to do what we should do.
